Manifestazioni per i 50 anni

del giornale degli Umaghesi

Il 25 aprile 2019, la Famiglia Umaghese ha festeggiato i cinquant'anni del periodico "Umago Viva", nato dall'ampliamento del foglio informativo in ciclostile "Quattro ciacole in piassa  dopo Messa granda", con l'intento di non disperdere le tradizioni e i contatti tra i compaesani a seguito dell'Esodo. Ideatrice del periodico fu Lucia Manzutto, una dei fondatori e anima della Famiglia Umaghese.

Sede delle manifestazioni per questo importante traguardo per la nostra Famiglia, è stato il Civico Museo della Civiltà Istriana, Fiumana e Dalmata di Via Torino n. 8 - Trieste, che ci ha fornito gli spazi grazie all'appoggio del direttore dell'IRCI, Piero Delbello.

Al piano terra del Museo mostra storica sulla città di Umago e sulla fondazione e sviluppo dell'editoria umaghese.            

E' stato presentato l'ultimo libro edito dalla Famiglia Umaghese, "Le vie di Umago" a cura di Sergio Bessich.

E' stato collocato al secondo piano del Museo il plastico di Umago, manufatto creato dall'abile falegname umaghese Beniamino Favretto. Nel 2008, questa magnifica ricostruzione del centro storico di Umago è stata oggetto di una preziosa donazione alla Famiglia Umaghese da parte della famiglia Cattonar.

Al pomeriggio appuntamento musicale con Ester Pavlic all'arpa classica e Giuseppe Minin alla tromba/flicorno: "Anywhere in the world", un excursus sulle tradizioni musicali dei diversi continenti, ovvero dei diversi paesi dove sono sparsi gli Umaghesi a seguito dell'Esodo dalle loro terre.

25th April, 2019: Famiglia Umaghese celebrates the first 50 years of the magazine Umago Viva, born from the enlargement of the information sheet Quattro ciacole in piassa  dopo Messa granda, that saw the light in 1969 with the aim of preserving the human and cultural heritage and in order to keep in touch people from the same town following the exodus.

As Lucia Manzutto (one of the founders of the Famiglia Umaghese and editor of the information sheet until her untimely death in 1982) said, its purpose was to reinforce the links of a moral chain that unites the people from Umago to the large family embracing the whole country in order to strengthen the memory of the land of their roots, to unite compatriots living abroad, to revive the traditions and to allow a community scattered by tragic events feeling still alive and united and to find relief by a sharing of origins and feelings.

 The initiative was successful and people from Umago took part in the many activities proposed to them by the information sheet. In 1971 the sheet became Umago Viva, official information body of the Famiglia Umaghese, that in 1959 had become an association adhering to the Unione degli Istriani, when the Cultural Group “San Pellegrino” stopped its works. The group was born in 1954 as the first nucleus joining the people from Umago after the exodus.

For this present celebration the Famiglia involved young people through a group that has followed all the steps of the project called #50umagoviva, from its development to its publicizing and its actual realisation.  The team of young people has drawn a path starting from the historical exhibition at the Civico Museo della Civiltà Istriana, Fiumana e Dalmata (Via Torino n. 8, Trieste) and focused on the town of Umago, its foundation and the development of the Umago publishing. The presentation of the book published by the Famiglia Le vie di Umago by Sergio Bessich follows. The book is connected to the opening of the permanent location of the scale-model of Umago, artifact reproducing the historical centre of the town.

#50umagoviva continues with the presentation of an unreleased work by the artist Alessandro Finozzi and the concert Anywhere in the world performed by Ester Pavlic (harp) and Giuseppe Minin (trumpet).

Trait d’union between the past and the future is the use of new information channels such as the web and social networks.
